In consideration of the recent adoption of ethical measures on the use of artificial intelligence by UNESCO, various scientific journals, as well as UNAM itself, Mundo Nano. Interdisciplinary Journal in Nanosciences and Nanotechnology establishes the following guidelines:

  • No artificial intelligence system or tool can be listed as an author.
  • Any text or image generated by artificial intelligence is not accepted, including NLP (natural language processing) or LLM (large language models) systems, such as ChatGPT, Reuters-GPT, Llama-2 de Meta, Bloomz, among others.
  • The authors must expressly state that the version of the text submitted to Mundo Nano. Interdisciplinary Journal in Nanosciences and Nanotechnology was edited by human authors.
  • The use of artificial intelligence systems or tools is permitted in research processes that involve meta-analysis of literature, general consultations to verify hypotheses or research questions, and translation and style correction in various languages. All use of artificial intelligence systems or tools must be reported, indicating the platform used, the type of use of such artificial intelligence systems or tools in the preparation of the submitted work, and the potential limitations, biases or inconsistencies detected in the information generated with artificial intelligence.
  • The editors of Mundo Nano. Interdisciplinary Journal in Nanosciences and Nanotechnology reserve the right to submit the process of using artificial intelligence to a specific opinion when they consider it pertinent. This opinion on the use of artificial intelligence does not replace the double-blind evaluation of the scientific quality of the work submitted.
